The mission of the Indianapolis Black Documentary Film Festival is to showcase documentaries about the African American experience that inspire socially conscious cultural discourse. Our dynamic group of collaborators is committed to fostering appreciation for documentary film by maintaining a platform for filmmakers to share their work as catalysts for meaningful dialogue.
Dr. Eric Winston is the founder and Executive Director of IBDFF. He is a retired Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio and Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. He has been in the film industry since 2013, when he began producing documentaries, including Taking Park City, Taking Israel, and The Correct Thing: Palmer Memorial Institute.

Since 2000, she has worked in the film industry on both sides of the camera as an actress, producer, writer, and makeup artist. Danielle has been a valued team member on many productions, including Dr. Winston’s Taking Israel and The Correct Thing: Palmer Memorial Institute.
Jeremy Efroymson is an artist, philanthropist and arts activist. Through the Efroymson Family Fund, he advises, supports and advocates for small grassroots organizations that contribute to arts enrichment and cultural vibrancy in Indianapolis, Indiana and beyond.

Jenice Golson-Dunlap is a respected litigator with over 40 years of experience representing a wide array of clients and cases. She serves as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division. She sits on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and represents the Indiana Southern District Bankruptcy Trustees on the United States Trustee’s Advisory Committee for Region 10. She lectures locally and nationally on the facets of the United States Bankruptcy system.

Among the most respected trial attorneys in the nation, he is a former president of the American Association for Justice, one of the largest associations of attorneys committed to ensuring anyone can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms. He has appeared on such national media outlets as 60 Minutes and National Public Radio. His community involvement includes serving on the board of local non-profit organizations, including the Board of Trustees at Butler University.

Nichelle Hayes MPA, MLS is the founding leader of the Indianapolis Public Library’s Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library. She serves on community boards throughout the state of Indiana, including the Indianapolis NAACP, the Indiana African American Genealogy Group, and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the founders of Black History Month. Nichelle earned her MLS from Indiana University School of Library and Information Science.
Rebecca Robinson, an Indianapolis native, is a mixed media artist who exhibits her fine art in galleries throughout Indianapolis while prioritizing service to the arts community. As an advocate for social justice, she became a member of the art collective EIGHTEEN and helped create the Black Lives Matter Mural on historic Indiana Avenue.
Rebecca Robinson, an Indianapolis native, is a mixed media artist who exhibits her fine art in galleries throughout Indianapolis while prioritizing service to the arts community. As an advocate for social justice, she became a member of the art collective EIGHTEEN and helped create the Black Lives Matter Mural on historic Indiana Avenue. She began her filmmaking journey by producing the award-winning documentary The Color of Medicine: The Story of Homer G. Phillips to honor her father, grandfather and other African American trailblazers in the field of medicine. She sits on the African American History Committee Advisory Board for the Indianapolis Public Library. Rebecca earned a BA in Art/Visual Communications from HBCU North Carolina Central University where she graduated with high honors.

She has held key positions within high-profile Indianapolis organizations, including the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome, Emmis Communications, Visit Indy,

She has held key positions within high-profile Indianapolis organizations, including the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome, Emmis Communications, Visit Indy, and the Madame Walker Legacy Center. In 2020, she established herself as a Cultural Architect by creating Judith & Co., a consulting firm focused on celebrating the rich diversity of Arts, Culture & Tourism. Judith attended North Central High School and graduated from Butler University with a BS in Public and Corporate Communications.
